Manchester FA Walking Football Festival 26.02.20.

Manchester FA invited Moston Brook FC to enter another Walking Football Festival to help promote this version of the game at ‘Goals’ on Irish Town Way in Manchester.

It is the third time the club have made an appearance in the past five months, & on each occasion they have reached the final. However, in an-effort to not affect the numbers who attend Oldham Leisure Centre on a Wednesday morning they only entered one team instead of the usual two, the ‘Blues’.

The ‘Blues’ called this because they wore the Seniors change kit started on the front foot & won all three group matches scoring twenty goals & conceding only two.

Group Matches:

MB Blues v Market Drayton         Won 9-0

MB Blues v Be Well Glossop (2)  Won 6-0

MB Blues v Trafford (2)                Won 5-2

They then strolled through the Semi – Final against Market Drayton’s second team

Semi – Final:

MB Blues v Market Drayton (2)  Won 8-0

The final was a much closer affair against Be Well Glossop’s first team.

Final:

MB Blues v Be Well Glossop (1) Won 2-1

The team scored in total (30) goals with Mick Tarpey scoring (12), & Paul Crosby (11) & a special mention should go to Graham Hall who only conceded (3) in the whole tournament in goal.
